　当方で、Postfix+OpenLDAP で稼動を始めたときは、
  Postfix 2.0.20 , OpenLDAP 2.1.30 でしたので、それ以前のバージョン
のサーバ稼動は経験していませんが、

　postfix 2.0 あたりでは、main.cf の

  ldap:/etc/postfix/ldap-aliases.cf

  のような書式をサポートしていたかどうかがちょっと微妙です。
　2.1 からは、この記述できますが・・・

>  alias_maps = ldap:ldapmaps
>  ldapmaps_server_host = localhost
>  ldapmaps_search_base = dc=mydomain, dc=test
>  ldapmaps_query_filter = (mail=%s)
>  ldapmaps_result_attribute = uid

　のような形式は 2.0 , 2.1 , 2.2 でも出来ますね。
＃2.1 以降非推奨のようです・・

　可能であれば、最新バージョン
　postfix 2.2.3
  OpenLDAP 2.2.26

  の組み合わせでやってみてはどうでしょうか。
